I had the pleasure of staying at the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas for the first time…and I fell in love! I have always thought of the Mandarin brand of hotels as a business man’s hotel, and although they do cater to the business sector, this hotel is also an incredible option for any leisure traveler who enjoys a luxury experience and exquisite service.
The Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas is a boutique hotel with only 392 rooms and is only one of two hotels that has received the Forbes Five-Star rating. The hotel is a triple Five-Star award winner for its hotel, spa and restaurant, Twist by Pierre Gagnaire. The service is impeccable and very reflective of the Asian culture and their hospitality principle.
Another great feature about this hotel is the location. The Mandarin is located in the new City Center development in the middle of the strip which allows for easy walking access to all the hotels and casinos. This is a non-gaming hotel but it is located steps from Aria and the Cosmopolitan, where you can get in all the gambling your heart desires….you just don’t have to live in all that smoke and noise (which I love).
The hotel decor is elegant, warm and inviting and is designed with your every comfort in mind.
The Rooms:
One of my favorite features in the room is the Valet Closet. This is a small pantry-style closet that allows for your room service order, dry cleaning or any other item to be delivered to you discretely so you are not interrupted or inconvenienced.
The Pool:
The pool side service is amazing. Our drinks never ran dry, snacks were periodically delivered, amazing lunches were available for order and the staff even accommodated us by recommending and ordering our show tickets for the evening.
The Spa:
It’s quite obvious why this is a Forbes Five-Star rated spa. The spa is luxurious and indulgent. I took advantage of all the spa amenities such as the steam room, thermal pool beds, heated tile lounge chairs and the relaxation beds ~ all with views of the strip. A slice of heaven in Las Vegas!
I also saw some incredible specialty Suites, most larger than my own home….just let me know if you want me to show you the pictures and make arrangements for you.
No doubt about it for me, the Mandarin Oriental is now my go-to hotel in Las Vegas. Don’t be convinced that this property is out of your price range because the Las Vegas hotel has to be competitively priced in order to compete with the casino hotels. If you have the opportunity to visit this property, jump on it! You won’t be disappointed.
